Acronis True Image Home Software makes it easy to backup any type of file, whether it’s on a physical or a virtual system. It’s automatic periodic backup feature is a dream for anyone who uses a computer. Just the other day, my sister was opening her schoolwork to show me how much she had accomplished. In her haste to show off, she pressed File > Save As and double clicked the filename. There went her document–it was immediately replaced with the blank file that Microsoft Word automatically opens up to. You can imagine how upset she was. We tried several things to restore her file…looked in the Temporary folder…tried System Restore. Everything we tried was to no avail!
If we had backup software such as that offered by Acronis, furthermore with an automatic backup feature, this would not have been a problem. Her assignment was due in two days and she had to start all over again. And as if that wasn’t enough of a problem for one person already, it became a problem for me. I had been designated as a backup to help in case she was running out of time. Which she purposely did.
Acronis’ website includes many testimonials from happy customers. One boasts that the set-up time for the software was only 20 minutes, another boasts that the restoration of a backup takes only 10 minutes! This is definitely something to invest in–you pay for it once, install it once, and then you forget about it. And you forget about what will happen should the file accidentally get deleted, changed, or otherwise malfunctioned. When the time comes, you’ll remember that Acronis always has your back.
