Smorty Introduces A Blog And A Forum!

I don’t know what can be said of either the Smorty blog or forum yet–they are both spanking new. I first noticed when I logged in to complete a task that I had put off because I felt sick. I realized that when I logged in, I didn’t go directly to the new opportunities page. Instead, there is a page where you can view the top earners, register a domain name, or go to the different sections of Smorty. I was able to choose a nickname and avatar for the new forum.

Instead of Smorty points, which really sucked, we are now ranked by the advertisers on a scale of 1 to 5 based on our posts. I’m not sure what significance this will have, because it seems like advertisers care more about PR (page rank) rather than quality blog posts. I have plenty of pages that appear within the top five search engine results, depending on the keyword. And that’s funny, because those very same pages have an NR rank right now (haven’t been ranked yet). The only one of my pages that actually has a PR is the index, which is PR4.

Smorty also requires you to complete your entire blog entry before submitting a task. To be sure of this, you must enter the actual entry into the task submission page. That will definitely make those people who were just submitting the required link in order to get more jobs mad! Maybe that means there will be a few extra jobs for me! The top earners right now are boasting $1,700-3,400 right now, but I can’t tell if that is over the lifetime of their account, this month, or the past seven days. I’m guessing it may be a lifetime figure or the few lucky people who have seen $100 opportunities.

One more thing is that I didn’t get my expected payment on the 14^th or on Friday (the 15^th). I’m still waiting patiently, though, because they’ve always delivered in the past. I’m guessing all these changes has made them forget about paying their bloggers.
