Chemistry Is Done!

I’m so glad that my Chemistry class is finally done! Now I’ll be school-free and bored out of my wits for nearly two months. I don’t know what I’ll do for sure since I’m so bad at sticking to plans that I’ve set…but one thing for sure is that I’ll drive myself crazy.

So far PackRat has been consuming most of my time. I just finished the Quest of Montezuma feat and now I’m working on the Ancient Realms. I’ve already done the three that are about to expire. I tend to do the packs with the least amount of cards to mix and then work my way up…it gets really expensive though and I’m getting a little tired of scrounging for credits.

I think I wrote about deciding to start volunteering again. I don’t really remember…but I need to try and remember to call the lady on Monday so I can get started. I’m going to be volunteering for VITAS Hospice, visiting terminally ill patients either in the hospital, nursing home, a hospice, or their own home. They set you up with patients based on your schedule and how often you can visit them…some people want to be visited every day and some people just want someone to visit when their family isn’t home, etc. I used to volunteer there before but since I wasn’t 15 yet I was limited to working in the office. Seems so long ago, LOL…

You Know You Want A Waterbed!

Have you ever been on a waterbed? Waterbeds are one of the most fun and comfortable beds around. To me, it beats lying on one of those space-material beds that “remembers your shape. What happens when you change shape? Do you have to buy a new bed or wait for a while so the bed can readjust to your shape? The cool thing about waterbeds is that it doesn’t matter if you weigh 120 pounds today and 170 pounds in two months. It will ALWAYS conform to your body and give you the support you need to have a great night’s sleep.

Softside waterbeds can ease your pain if you wake up with aches and pains all the time. It can help you to have a longer and more relaxing sleep so that you wake up rejuvenated and de-stressed before you have to start your day. It really beats using sleeping aides.

I can’t wait to get my own place. I promise that the first thing I’m going to get is a waterbed. Nothing means more to me than a great bed that optimizes my sleep time because I get so little time to sleep to begin with. I know that a waterbed can do that for me.

I am in that phase again where I dwell on life instead of focusing on tasks that I should be completing right now. I have a Chemistry test on Monday that I’m probably not even 1/3 prepared for yet I am thinking about life. Funny thing is I keep thinking about the same things over and over again. I figured if I blogged about it I may be able to get back to studying since it will really be out of my head and into a new medium.

Basically, I’m trying to figure out what to do with my life. I don’t have the money to take the classes that I want to this fall so I may never be done with school. I’ve been thinking really hard about getting a loan, but I don’t want to apply until my credit score is over 700. I only have 42 more points to go, but it’s kind of hard since I don’t have the money to pay off my credit cards in the first place. It’s a depressing cycle because if I work more than PT I don’t do well in school, and if I don’t work more than PT I can’t really afford to go to school.

Since deciding that I’ll just apply to medical school after I have my 90 credits (you can read about that here), I’ve realized that there’s so much more I need to do in order to get in if I don’t plan to have my Bachelor’s first. So, I’ve decided that after next Friday (when Chem class ends) I’m going to begin volunteering at a hospital or nursing home. I’m also going to become friends with this surgeon that I know through a friend so that he can write me a recommendation letter.

I’m also going to write down my time line of classes to take before taking the MCAT, which is more for my reference than to bore you. :D
