A Little Happier

So, I’m back to babysitting everyday until the end of the first week of August. Then at the end of August I’ll be having a steady job until at least early 2008, so maybe everything will work out after all. My mom also gave me some news that is possibly really good…I just have to wait and see if everything pans out. And since I’m not really one to count my chickens, I’ll wait until things actually work out this time before I say exactly what’s going on. Wouldn’t want to jinx myself, now would I? Especially since I seem to have what Jamaicans call “goat mouth.” That means plenty of stuff I say ends up happening–and usually the bad stuff. It seems to run in my family. Thank goodness I’m not a pessimist!

Other than that, I’m back to playing PackRat. The game that I was taking a few days off of and ended up taking a few weeks off of. And…what was I thinking? Although I’m partial to the new design (it looks cool but I miss the back and forward buttons that were there after I completed a steal, and I also miss being able to click the logo of the shop I’m in to refresh it), it’s still a great game and just gets better and better. Laziness Is Actually Diminishing!

I’m kind of glad that I’ve been doing somethings other than nothing lately. I’ve been working on my friends’ website making updates and adding their new inventory, tweaking the layout and helping them advertise it. I’ve also been working on my Feats in PackRat and helping my sisters and some newfound co-op friends via the discussion board with accomplishing their feats. I’ve been brainstorming ideas for this website and I’ve also been working on a schedule so that when I actually do call the lady about volunteering I’ll know exactly when I can do it.

Tomorrow evening I have a babysitting job and in the morning I take my sister to school and then will probably take a nap afterwards so that I’ll have energy (it’s two ADHD kids). The Win A Domain contest ends today, though, and the few hours that I have tomorrow between napping and leaving for work will be spent putting up the final few buttons that I’ve received over the past week or so and actually picking a winner. It will be a hard decision.

There are many people who really wanted to win and I wish I had the means of giving everybody a domain, but it just isn’t so. It’s going to be a kind of daunting task because I have to go through the submissions and make sure the sites qualify for the contest. I looked through a few already and noticed rules not being followed, etc. and there were only like 2 or 3 rules…so I’m not going to cut anybody any slack because the contest was easy enough as it is.

Chemistry Is Done!

I’m so glad that my Chemistry class is finally done! Now I’ll be school-free and bored out of my wits for nearly two months. I don’t know what I’ll do for sure since I’m so bad at sticking to plans that I’ve set…but one thing for sure is that I’ll drive myself crazy.

So far PackRat has been consuming most of my time. I just finished the Quest of Montezuma feat and now I’m working on the Ancient Realms. I’ve already done the three that are about to expire. I tend to do the packs with the least amount of cards to mix and then work my way up…it gets really expensive though and I’m getting a little tired of scrounging for credits.

I think I wrote about deciding to start volunteering again. I don’t really remember…but I need to try and remember to call the lady on Monday so I can get started. I’m going to be volunteering for VITAS Hospice, visiting terminally ill patients either in the hospital, nursing home, a hospice, or their own home. They set you up with patients based on your schedule and how often you can visit them…some people want to be visited every day and some people just want someone to visit when their family isn’t home, etc. I used to volunteer there before but since I wasn’t 15 yet I was limited to working in the office. Seems so long ago, LOL…
