I’m talking about prices. The stuff that we want to buy are too expensive. And the stuff that we don’t really want or moreso need, for that matter, are getting cheaper. I’m talking about airline tickets to go to funerals, food, gas, and cars. Who really wants to buy a new SUV now? Even if it is 1/2 price? I bet you I’d scoop it up if it went to $800 though! I was looking around for the cheapest tickets to Jamaica and they are ranging from $450-a little over $2000! I saw a few for $366-388, but then you have to wait at the airport overnight for a connecting flight. :(

And houses! My mom was looking at foreclosures in our area and they are getting really low! Some of the communities near us are in foreclosure with 4br/2ba for less than $80,000. I’m talking single-family, standalone homes with private backyards. Definitely beats the townhouse with a shared little strip (I don’t even think you can call it a backyard). And prices will probably go lower!

Well, like the AllState guy said, “If this isn’t a recession, it sure feels like one…”

Yeah, that’s what I said. My mom’s really good news was kinda squat, I think. I don’t think it will pan out. My sister’s going to Jamaica for two weeks, and I’m jealous. I just don’t have the time to go right now. :( One of our cousins was murdered, so she’s going to attend the funeral and then stay for a little vacation before school starts back in August.

Ah, to be young and worry-free! I remember when I was her age and didn’t have to worry about anything. I could take trips to Canada and Indiana and pretty much wherever without worrying about losing out on money. How I wish I could be a stress-free kid again!

Dogs are amazing little animals. Just don’t get one if you don’t have the time to let them go potty. Trust me, you don’t want to have to clean up dog poop that the dog has run into and spread all over the house. We take ours out at the MOST every 6 hours to be sure we don’t have any unexpected messes. It surely helps that there’s quite a few of us living here, so someone’s almost always home. We also put them on a feeding schedule (right now 8AM and 8PM since the Pekingese is on meds), but then we’ll change it to maybe 9AM and 6PM since I want to sleep in later and go to sleep earlier and I seem to have become the “feeding lady.” Which means I’m the “walking lady,” too. I’m the only one who doesn’t see walking them as a chore, I think. But maybe that’s just for now…

July 24, 2008   Filed Under: Babysitting, Life   253 words

So, I’m back to babysitting everyday until the end of the first week of August. Then at the end of August I’ll be having a steady job until at least early 2008, so maybe everything will work out after all. My mom also gave me some news that is possibly really good…I just have to wait and see if everything pans out. And since I’m not really one to count my chickens, I’ll wait until things actually work out this time before I say exactly what’s going on. Wouldn’t want to jinx myself, now would I? Especially since I seem to have what Jamaicans call “goat mouth.” That means plenty of stuff I say ends up happening–and usually the bad stuff. It seems to run in my family. Thank goodness I’m not a pessimist!

Other than that, I’m back to playing PackRat. The game that I was taking a few days off of and ended up taking a few weeks off of. And…what was I thinking? Although I’m partial to the new design (it looks cool but I miss the back and forward buttons that were there after I completed a steal, and I also miss being able to click the logo of the shop I’m in to refresh it), it’s still a great game and just gets better and better. It’s on Facebook, so if you’re wondering how to get in, just join facebook. If you’re already a member, then I’m almost certain you’ve gotten an invite before. :P
