I ended up doing good on my math test. I got 13/15, so I was happy. As for the Biology test, I could “totally have a BF!” (Reference to White Girls BF, not best friend). I got a 70% after the 4-point curve. Utterly unacceptable. That means that I’ll have to score higher than that for all the other tests, then that one will be dropped. When I saw that test score, I thought that I hadn’t studied! I recognized so many things on the test, but I mixed some of them up. Some of the mistakes were so silly that I wanted to cry. Lucky thing I turned in the optional extra credit assignment!

I’m doing a stock photo shoot next week Tuesday! It’s for TFP, so I won’t be getting paid the $600 bucks Shivon got paid for doing hers, but I will (hopefully) get some stunning business-style photos for my (non-existent) portfolio.

Anyas Smorty Side Panel

I’ve been having a good start with Smorty lately, so I decided to join Blogsvertise. Smorty doesn’t have many advertisers. That disappoints me a little, because their advertisers generally pay well. I got one that was worth $19.20! Not bad for the little bit of visitors that I get. I will definitely post a paypal screen cap once I get my money Friday! The only thing I don’t like about Smorty is that it takes 120 hours for the blog post to be approved. That’s a full 5 days from when you submit the post to them. It makes up for it that you get your approved payments at the end of the week, though.

With Blogsvertise, I signed up and my blog was approved almost instantly. The funny thing is I didn’t even do the experimental post that they said I’d need to do in order to be approved. It was unpaid and about Blogsvertise, to make sure we’ve got the hang of things before posting “real blog ads.” I purposely didn’t do it because it wasn’t paid and was actually a “real blog ad.” If they hadn’t approved me, I just wouldn’t work for them. Anyways, that was yesterday, and today I got my first $10 post from them. My blog post has already been approved, but it takes 30 days before I’ll get the payout.

These companies all have their good points and drawbacks.

Scratch That (The Agency)!

Okay, I’m not going to bother with the agency. I’ve got more advice from Shivon…and a comment from a few people (Nadiyya being one) advising me to be wary of shady agencies. I believe that God sends us signs…and I’m going to listen. I will still try out the modeling thing, though, but in the way that Shivon has suggested.

The people I babysit for are absolutely the coolest! Today, we went to Aventura Mall, where we had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I didn’t have any cheesecake (they weren’t and I didn’t want to seem greedy), but I had a delicious plate of Four Cheese Pasta…even though I could have made it much better.

After reading Tai’s blog today, I remembered that I have to order my books for school. I order them online since the school’s bookstore has the stuff for 2-3 times as much (and sometimes 20x…once I got a used book for $5) and it takes a little while for them to come in. I recommend CampusBooks.com…they compare prices from all the major booksellers. Just a few weeks ago I was dying for school to end, but right now I can’t wait for school to start back. I haven’t learned much over the break and I’m starting to feel dumb.

The weather has been so awful here in Florida. It’s getting to New York temperatures, and quite frankly, I don’t like it! I can’t wait for these few days of super cold to be over…we’re in the 20 & 30 degrees right now! I travel with my blanket as if I were a baby!

I’m Going To A Talent Agency!

I went to Shivon’s page and got uber jealous of her modeling talent. I thought, “Hey, why can’t that be me?” Then she sent me an inspiring e-mail about how she got started and encouraged me to give it a go. So, when I went to Publix today to buy my SunPass, and passed by a Talent Agency, I decided to stop by.

The lady there was nice. I asked her what all the requirements are, and she said basically there’s an interview, and if they like you, you have to pay to do the photoshoot, headshot, and comp cards. Then they’ll get you jobs and you keep 80% of what you make. The other 20% is their comission. You’ve gotta wear a bikini to the interview so that they can prick and prod your body and write down all the little scars that you have.

She said I can only do print/commercials and stuff since I’m only 5′5″. I knew that already, though. I’m not looking to be a Top Model anyway, I just want to earn some well needed cash for school. And if I’ve got the look, for it….why not? The problem is I don’t know if I have the look/body type. I guess I’ll find out when I go to the interview!

I’ve been experimenting with making glitter graphics. I’m not that good yet, but I’m hoping to improve. They’re actually fun to make!
