Of Night Clubs And Dirty Hands

Last night I went to Rumbass again. This time I brought my ID, though, and the funny thing is that we got in for free. It was supposed to be $15 because there was a live concert and a lingerie contest (none of which we knew about), but someone in the line gave us four VIP tickets, so we all got in for free. Bless his kind soul. I love having fun for free. In fact, I’d probably be more social if everything in life were free.
I was wearing these shorts and people kept wanting to dance. I had on a green tank top that I stole from my sister’s closet…coincidentally from Charlotte Russe as well. They weren’t even polite about it, they just kept pulling and tugging and I nearly pulled a Nadiyya and punched one in the face. Even if they had been polite, I wouldn’t have danced with them, but I’d have returned the politeness and kindly say “No” instead of flinging their hands off of me.
That’s a camera phone picture of my shorts in case you’re questioning the quality. I’m still without a digital camera and probably will be for the rest of the year. I don’t know how things are going to work out as yet. I definitely felt under-dressed compared to my friends because when I got to the rendezvous they had decided to go with pants. And of course I wasn’t going to waste another hour going back home just to pick up a pair of pants.
Everglades By Day, Paper By Night

Tomorrow morning I have to wake up early in order to get to school by 7:45AM. I am not looking forward to it. We are going to the Everglades, which I think will be a fun and interesting experience. What sucks is that we have to write a report about it afterwards. I’m not an early riser, though, so that’s my main issue with that. Getting to school at 8AM is hard enough, I’ve always been at least 10 minutes late…except for the day of the test.
Speaking of tests…I got a 89% after the 10-point curve on the Biology test! I was so happy. That takes a teeny bit of stress from me because I don’t have to worry about doing too great on the practical as long as I keep that up. Plus I did an extra credit assignment, although I don’t think it’s worth much. Every little bit counts! I always take any extra credit I can get.
I can’t wait for this semester to be over with. I know I’ve written (and said) that a million times…but I really can’t wait. I still haven’t finished my paper, which means that the teacher probably won’t look over the draft. He said we would have to give him at least four days and it is due in two days. I just want it to be over!
Butterflies and Mythology

I took the kids I was babysitting today to Butterfly World. It is such an amazing place! The little girl (4) was scared of the butterflies’ feet, so every time one flew near her (which was every 2 seconds), she started crying. It was really sad. I ended up taking them for just a quick 15-minute walk around the garden (spending the bulk of the time where the bigger butterflies were since they fly higher in the air, and then to the cafe to eat. It was good timing, too, because then it began to rain. I took pictures, so I’ll attempt to put ‘em up on Monday.
Right now I’m watching Magic In The Water. Something funny just happened. The dad was digging a hole to China at the beach, and the son found it stupid. A Japanese boy was running away from the monster and fell in the hole. As the boy is getting out, the son sees him and says, “China!” Then the Japanese boy runs away and the son is screaming “Wait!” In the next scene, he starts digging the hole more to find out how the boy got through the “tunnel.”
Later on I’m going to my friend’s birthday party. I’m excited to go, because I haven’t seen her since last year May…BUT (because there’s always a but) I really want to go to sleep because I have another babysitting job tomorrow and still need to study for my test on Monday. There is so much material that I need to cover for Biology that it’s not even funny! I hope the party is worth my while!
