BET Awards & Such

I just finished watching the BET Awards and I have to say that I wasn’t very impressed this year. :( I haven’t watched it for a few years but I still expected it to be a great show. There were no surprises and the few things they did to try and spice up the performances were kind of corny.

I think the first thing that pissed me off was Keyshia Cole’s performance. I expected better and she didn’t deliver like she should have. Or maybe it was Usher’s performance of “In This Club” or whatever the title of the song is….where was Beyonce? Probably catering to her hubby. ;) After that it all went downhill…with the racist jokes, overtly sexual comments, subpar performances, and overall corniness…

I have to say that I did enjoy Alicia Key’s performance. I’m glad she repped for Obama and I loved when “I Get So Weak” began and led into songs with the girl groups I love so much. I also thought Rihanna performed VERY well. But…where was Mariah, though? And how come there was no Amerie or Toni Braxton? I dunno, I guess I’m so behind the times that I don’t know that they didn’t release any songs last year. :( And where was Missy?

I took my sister to take the Driver’s License test today. She passed! She was so happy she immediately let everybody who’s anybody know. I’m going to take my neighbor to do her driving test on Friday if I have the time. Since my sister got hers two of my neighbors and my aunt (and my aunt is WAYYY overdue) are ready to go get theirs.

Miss Rapper Whatever

It is some show about females rapping to be the best and win (i.e. another reality show…) $100,000 or some other big amount of money. It is actually quite ridiculous. I mean, it is a great shot for the girls, but it is not one of the most interesting reality shows that I have watched. Khia was on it, only to be eliminated first because they told the contestants to be original and she sang a song which came out a while back, “Respect Me.” It was kind of funny because I did not know how she looked and I hear her rapping it and I am like “That’s Khia’s song! I wonder does she know she could get eliminated for stealing someone’s song!” And then she was eliminated for recycling her own! LMAO.

I have a job offer for $300/wk. Only thing is that it would be 45hr./wk. That is $6.67/hr. and no overtime pay. Yeah, it is my aunt’s shop…but I could make more working at Mickey D’s! That is plenty of work to be doing in one week. For so little bit of money. I think I can only consider that as a job until I get another one, although that would mean I would not have time to search for a job since it is primarily in the day and no wacko would hire someone that comes looking for a job in the night….or as a last resort, if worse becomes worst and I cannot find a job. That should not happen, though, because everywhere I go is hiring. Most of them aren’t until June, though. :|

Marvita Takes A Loss…Again!

I just finished watching the last two weeks’ worth of America’s Next Top Model. I can’t believe Marvita was sent home. She’s applied to the show like 5 or 6 times, so I think that alone should show how much she wants to win! That is just how life goes, though. Not all is fair in love and war. *sighs*

I hate it how they always eliminate everyone that I like, though. If that’s true, then the next to go is that white girl with the funky mohawk. And then Fatima. I can just bet that the nerdy girl will win because she’s my least favorite. I should just stop watching it and messing with these people’s lives. If I don’t make predictions, then they are free to win based on merit. Or maybe not. I guess it is just that phucked up shyt they call reality TV.

I know for certain that I would have drew a blank just like Marvita did, though. If there is someone telling me how bad I am doing, then that makes me all the more vulnerable and nervous and I am going to do bad. It is like a fulfillment of a self-fulfilling prophecy that Jay pushed on her. Tsk tsk tsk.
